From the heart of Neiva, Huila, Colombia, emerges an artist whose medium defies convention and whose hands transform the ephemeral into eternity. Jenny Carola Dussan Charry, born on September 30, 1978, is not only a sculptor and painter but a visionary pioneer in the art of paraffin — a delicate medium that she has elevated into a luminous language of beauty, resilience, and transcendence.
Though a Financial Administrator by profession, her soul found its true vocation in art. For more than thirteen years, Jenny has been shaping forms of light — paraffin sculptures and paintings that seem to hold the memory of fire and the gentleness of candlelight. Her journey began as an empirical artist in her homeland, and soon her art transcended borders, illuminating exhibitions, television programs, and international fairs. Through her seminars and workshops, she has not only shared a unique technique but also ignited the creative spirit in others, both in Colombia and abroad.
A Life of Light and Recognition
Jenny’s mastery in paraffin art has earned her some of the most prestigious awards across continents — each recognition a testament to her originality and devotion:

Madelia Award at the First Olive Festival, Egypt
Oscar Rama del Olivo Prize, Egypt
First Prize – Medal for Innovation in Paraffin Art (2024), Cairo, Egypt

Gold Medal and First Place – “The Future” International Art Competition, Embassy of India, Amman, Jordan
ALA’s Award – Best Paraffin Sculptor/Carver, Mexico
Recognition as a Colombian Cultural Promoter, Fundación Súper Arte Cali
Her luminous creations have reached palaces, embassies, and museums, from Bogotá to Málaga, Salerno, Cairo, and Busan, bearing the mark of a Colombian artist whose art is rooted in emotion and expressed in universal harmony.
Paraffin as a Metaphor of the Human Spirit
For Jenny, paraffin is not simply material — it is metaphor. The wax, fragile yet enduring, mirrors the human condition: capable of melting in the face of suffering, yet glowing with warmth and life. Through this medium, she narrates stories of transformation, fragility, and rebirth — works that seem to breathe with an inner flame.
Her piece “El Hombre en el Mundo Actual” (Man in the Modern World) was selected to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Picasso in Málaga, Spain, and later chosen again by curators for the 5th Biennale of Contemporary Art in Salerno, Italy, where it was displayed at the city’s Historic Palace — a rare distinction.
She has since exhibited at the Casa Museo Grau in Bogotá, Expo Latina de Arte Colombia, Universal Brush Society, Biennale di Arte Busan (BIAF) in South Korea, and countless international platforms from Turkey to Costa Rica, Argentina, Egypt, and the Philippines.
A Bridge Between Worlds
Jenny is a member of the Artistic Brotherhood “Artes sin Fronteras”, connecting artists across Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Argentina, Cuba, Venezuela, Mexico, Guatemala, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Nicaragua, and Spain. Through her participation in cultural movements, she has contributed to building bridges among nations, fostering dialogue, empathy, and collective creativity.
Her art has graced the pages of international magazines such as Oscar Art and Literature Journal (Egypt) and has been honored in exhibitions of profound cultural significance:
“The Sound of Autumn” in Iran
“Awakening of Consciousness” in Costa Rica
“Cultura Cromática” in the Congress of the Republic of Colombia
“Art for Peace and Love” in Cairo’s Opera House
“Colombia: A Cascade of Tones” in the Philippines
“Festival Internacional de Arte GEOJE” in South Korea
Each exhibition adds a new dimension to her artistic pilgrimage — a movement not only through geographies but through the landscapes of emotion, spirituality, and purpose.
Ambassador of Peace and Light
Recognized as a Peace Ambassador by the Congress of the Republic of Peru, and as Ambassador of Bindaas Artist Group (India), Jenny Dussan Charry’s path embodies the transformative power of art as an instrument of peace, awareness, and unity. Her creations transcend matter, offering what paraffin itself teaches — that light must melt to illuminate.
Through her art, Jenny invites us to witness the flame that survives within every act of creation — a flame that continues to burn beyond borders, languages, and time.
